A 75-year-old man with paraganglioma(PGL)received general anesthesia three times. Hypertensive crisis was suspected due to abnormal hypertension and electrocardiogram abnormalities during his first surgery, which was performed under general anesthesia alone. PGL was diagnosed after the first surgery. The second and third surgeries were performed under general anesthesia combined with regional anesthesia after preoperative blood pressure control and circulating plasma volume correction. Under this regimen, the patient experienced no serious complications during the second or third perioperative periods.
