 Purpose: The objective of this research is to clarify how magnitude of effecting of 38 Caring Acts to Active Practical Attitudes of Cancer Patients.

 Methods: Analysis was performed using partial correlation analysis with the dependent variable being the difference between the before and after states of active practical attitudes, the primary independent variable being each 38 caring acts scored, and the other independent variables being the active practical attitudes when a patient was hospitalized, the existence of PS1 or higher.

 Results: Analysis in each item of caring acts revealed that 28 caring acts had an effectiveness ranging from medium to small. For example, from the moderate “provide the knowledge and skills you need to deal with yourself (r = .406)” to small “I will help you understand where you are and set realistic goals (r = .344).”

 Conclusions: It was suggested that 28 caring acts had effects on active and practical attitudes of patients, playing a beneficial role for them to live their own meaningful life, even when facing the severe reality of cancer.
