Purpose: It is to clarify what motivates the performance of the role of the practical instructor.

Methods: I conducted a semi-structured interview method, segmented it in the context, extracted the code, classified the code after comparing it with the differences, and then assigning a name suitable for the collection of multiple codes. Categories were extracted from subcategories.

Results: There are five research collaborators. The categories of motivation in the performance of the role of the practical training instructor are 【I want to give confident guidance with sense of responsibility】【Fulfillment and strengths gained from the role】【A thought for students who expect growth】【Past negative experience and positive experience】【The boss that you admire acknowledges】【Atmosphere of ward to cooperate with practical training】【Enhancement of non-working hours】【Consideration for staff・thought desiring growth】.

Discussion: Motivation in role execution was presumed to have turned into a motivation of endogenous motivation and a role initiated from negative emotions changed to endogenous motivation by boss approval and mutual relations among ward staff.
