The purpose of this research was to investigate how handicapped children and their families come to feel comfortable in their daily living by sensory integration intervention (SI). Data was collected through interviews with sixteen mothers of children with sensory integrative dysfunction regarding the performance of their children's daily activities before and after the SI. The narrative data were coded, classified and scored based on the criterion, and statistically examined. The narrative data describing improvements in sensory modulation, problem of behavior, activities of daily living, motor skills and communication skills, etc. were obtained from the mothers' interviews. A significant difference between the average total scores of before and after intervention proves that children's comfort and their families' daily living improved after SI intervention (p<0.01). It was meaningful to examine the effectiveness of client-centered SI interventions by investigating the quality of life of disabled children and their families.
