The aim of this study was to clarify what evaluations and interventions of occupational therapy were required from nurses and physical therapists in a hospital for the elderly. 25 nurses and 25 physical therapists responded to a questionnaire which included open-ended questions, and the responses were analyzed using the Model of Human Occupation. The results indicated that both professionals were seeking to provide information and intervention in activities of daily living. However, they lacked understanding in areas of professional identity of occupational therapy, namely evaluating and intervening in the meaning of life, values, and social roles of clients. The roll of occupational therapy in the rehabilitation team approach was investigated from the responses to open-ended questions using the KJ method. The results point to the importance of collaborating with a rehabilitation team centering on clients' needs, and it was considered to be related to service satisfaction. It is necessary for occupational therapists to exchange information with other rehabilitation professionals in comprehensible terms.
