新しい重篤性の定義のもとに，着床前胚遺伝子検査（PGT-M）の申請および審査が開始されたが，その適応については引き続き社会全体で議論を重ねる必要がある。PGT-Mの対象となり得る神経筋疾患においては，近年急速に治療薬開発が進んでいることから，患者とその家族の自律した意思決定が妨げられることがないように，治療選択肢の理解を深め，患者とその家族とともに倫理的課題を含めた遺伝リテラシーを涵養することが求められている。

Abstract

Preimplantation genetic testing for monogenic disorders (PGT-M) has been implemented in Japan with a revised definition of severity to reduce the risk of having a child with an inherited genetic disorder. However, further discussion is required on its indication within society. The rapid advancements in treatment options for inherited neuromuscular diseases, potentially suitable for PGT-M, underscore the importance of deepening our understanding of available therapies and genetic literacy, along with addressing ethical issues, together with patients and their families without hindering their autonomous decision-making.
