The purpose of this study was to evaluate effects of technique of therapeutic touch (TT) developed by Dolores Krieger. The subjects were 40 healthy volunteer students. In the experimental group, they underwent TT for 10 minutes. In the control group, they underwent therapeutic touch by placebo (PTT) for 10 minutes. They participated in both groups, and were measured heart rate, respiration, skin temperature before, during and after interventions. The subjective responses were measured before and after interventions.

Heart rate significantly decreased by intervention in both groups, but the experimental group was significantly low level in comparison between groups. Respiration was no change in both groups. Skin temperature significantly decreased during and after interventions in both groups. In subjective response, “calms of mood,” “warmth of limbs,” and “warmth of abdominal” significantly decreased after intervention in both groups. In the experiment group, “quietness of a heart beat” significantly increased after intervention.
