胃腸炎を伴う新生児にみられた胎児弧菌による敗血症

Septicemia Due to Campylobacter fetus*1 in a Newborn Infant with Gastroenteritis

　はじめに―世界の文献の中で，ヒトの感染に関連したCampylobacter fetus―以前にはVibrio fetusとして分類されていた―の症例は100例足らずである．この微生物は，初めてMcFadyean and Stockmanによって畜牛から分類され，有蹄類において感染性流産や不妊症の原因菌として知られている．しかし，ヒトにおいても流産，胃腸炎，敗血症，感染性関節炎，局所性膿瘍，髄膜炎，ならびに心嚢炎の症例についてこのいわゆる"ひよりみ的"病原体が原因菌として報告されている．

Introduction―In the world literature, Campylobacter fetus, previously classified as Vibrio fetus, has been implicated^*2 in less than 100 cases of human infection. The organism, first isolated in cattle by McFadyean and Stockman, has been identified as the causative agent of infectious abortions and infertility in ungulates^*3. However, human abortions and cases of gastroenteritis, septicemia, septic arthritis^*4, local abscesses, meningitis, and pericarditis have also been presented with this reportedly ^*5"opportunistic" ^*6 pathogen as the etiological agent.
