Flow cytometric immunophenotyping for the diagnosis of myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS)

フローサイトメトリー(FCM)によるimmunophenotypingは骨髄異形成症候群(MDS)の診断にも利用されているが，その役割は現状では小さなものである．しかし骨髄や末梢血のimmunophenotypingをMDSの診断に利用する試みについては，近年多くの知見が得られており，スコアリングなど手法の進歩もみられ，その価値は変化しつつある．これらの状況について解説し，MDSにおけるimmunophenotypingの標準化についても言及する．

Flow cytometric immunophenotyping is a useful tool for the diagnosis of myelodysplastic syndromes(MDS).　But it has been considered that flow cytometric immunophenotyping has little weight in the diagnosis of MDS, because there is no consensus for immunophenotypic parameter to discriminate accurately between MDS and other conditions.　However, recent advances in the analytical method and knowledge of MDS immunophenotype are changing this idea.　In this report, the author reviewed most relevant progress in diagnostic utility and standardization of flow cytometric immunophenotyping in MDS.
