MR(麻しん・風しん混合)ワクチン接種率だけでなく，すべての定期予防接種率を上げる努力が大切である．福井県小児科医会では「予防接種台帳に基づく接種率調査」を継続しているが，これが契機となってすべての市町で予防接種台帳が完備しており，未接種者を把握して勧奨するシステムが稼動している．このためにMRを含む定期接種の接種率が極めて高い．また，MR3・4期では中高生に対する予防接種教育が重要で，安易に集団接種を採用すべきではない．
