Cochleosacculotomy

I．はじめに

　Cochleosacculotomy^1）はメニエール病の手術的療法としてSchuknechtが最近開発した手術法である。メニエール病に対する他の手術療法にくらべると手術は比較的簡単である。めまいをおさえ，メニエール病の進行を阻止することを目的としたもので，この手術法が評価されるには長い年月にわたる経過観察が必要となる。

　われわれは最近この手術を行う機会があり，きわめて興味ある経験をしたので，本手術の手技，適応，結果などについて述べてみたい。

　Cochleosacculotomy was performed on 8 cases including Meniere's disease, cochlear Meniere's disease, delayed hydrops and sudden deafness. Vertigo disappeared in 4 out of 5. Fullness of the ear disappeared completely in all of 6 patients.

　Hearing deteriorated after surgery. However, some showed partial recovery of hearing within two months.

　Surgical technique, indication and result were described and discussed.
