 A man, aged 81, developed of aphonia and dysphagia with herpetic eruptions in the right auricle, and the careful examination revealed the presence of disturbances in the right 9th and bilateral 10th cranial nerves without mucosal symptoms of the mouth. pharynx and larynx. He completely recovered after two weeks of treatment.

 The second case, a man aged 52, complained of right facial palsy and difficulty swallowing proceded by high fever and earache of the right side.The examination showed disturbances of the right 5th, 7th 8th, 9th, 10th and 12th cranial nerves. After three weeks of treatment, his symptoms were improved except for moderate disturbances of the facial and cochlear nerves.

 The prognosis of the impaired cranial nerves except for the facial and cochlear nerves was generally good in our cases and in the others which had previously been reported in Japan.
