　最近抗生物質の需要が増加するにつれて，耐性菌による感染症が大きな問題になつているが，就中耐性ブドウ球菌（以下ブ菌と略す）による感染症の治療はきわめて厄介である。

　近年この種の感染症に対して，数多い薬剤が登場したが，1962年Godtfrezenらによつて開発された抗生物質，Fucidic acid Na塩（商品名：Fucidin Leo）は，ブ菌感染症はもとより，他種抗生剤耐性獲得ブ菌に対しても，強力な治療剤として脚光を浴びるようになつてきた。

　Fucidin is a new antibiotic which is structurally similar to the steroid and is highly effective against the staphylococci. It seems particularly effective towards warding off secondary bacterial invasions.

　The author states that the use of fucidin supplementally to the steroids has been highly effective towards treatment of necrotic rhinitis both in types Ia and IIa.
