鼻腔癌に対する60Co照射例—特に腫瘍組織の放射性変化について

　緒言

　近年悪性腫瘍に対する放射線療法の進歩は目ざましく，同位元素特に⁶⁰Coのすぐれた治療効果についての報告も屡々みられるようになつた。最近，私どもも鼻腔癌患者に対して⁶⁰Co照射の単独療法を行つて現在満1年を経過し何ら再発の徴候を示さない症例を経験したので報告し，更に治療の経過中に連続的に試験切片を採取し得たので腫瘍組織の放射性変化をつぶさに観察することが出来，腫瘍の治癒機転の一端を知り得たので報告する次第である。

A favorable result was obtained in treat-ment of basal cell carcinoma by irradiation with 7500 r of Co⁶⁰. The malignancy was found involving the right nasal cavity of a woman aged 69.The progress of the treat-ment was observed during the irradiation treatment by periodical biopsy of the cancer tissue.At the time when 3000 r were admi-nistered changes were noted by a large in-crease in eosinophiles,formation of an in-crease in vacuolated cells and an appearance of new granulation tissues in the structures of cell interval.At 5000 r the vcuolated cells seemed to be adjoined forming a cystic struct-ure;nucleus formation of the malignant cells appeared to be disintergrated with a complete loss of their apparent viability;vessels of interstitial structures appeared to be hypert-rophic with a marked increase of fibrotic structures.Finally,at 7500 r morphology of basal cell carcinoma was completely destroyed and it was found to be displaced by connect-eiv stisues.At the end of 30 days following the final irradiation the cancer was found to be completely displaced by a mass of conn-ective tissue.
