著明な鼻根部腫瘤を来せる化骨性線維腫症例

　緒言

　顔面骨より発生する主な腫瘍は，骨腫，線維腫，骨線維腫の3種であり，之等に就いての臨床報告は，屡々見られる所である。

　然し，元来便宜的に分類された腫瘍そのものを，独立した一つの疾患として取扱う時は，屡々細部に亘つては幾多の矛盾が現われて来る。それは，腫瘍の分類を行う時，腫瘍を構成する組織成分を基準にして命名されていて，腫瘍の生物学的態度が考慮されていない為である。然し，一般には，腫瘍の生物学的態度を知る事は困難な為に，斯る分類上の矛盾を生ずるのも止むを得ない事と考えられる。

A case of ossifying fibroma is reported. A tumor in the region of the root of the nose in a woman, aged 30, is removed. Microscopic examination revealed the growth to be consi-sting of hard fibroma generally but, in places an increase in the number of giant cells whi-ch were surrounded by mucous, connective tissue fibres and hyaline material and the presence of ossifying areas in spots were seen. The author believes that the formation of osteoma is a secondary process that be-gins primarily with the presence of ossifying fibroma.
