軟骨，骨組織を伴える咽頭角化症の2症例について

　緒言

　咽頭角化症は1873年FrankelがMycosis benigna pharyngisと発表したのが始まりである。HeryngのPharyngomycosis leptothriciaやJakobsonのAlgosis faucium leptothricia，或はStörkのSebrrhoea tonsillaris等はWaldeyer氏咽頭環に見られる少しく硬く灰白色で抜去出来ない腺窩の栓塞物を検索して，それが糸状菌によるものと認めたからである。

　その後Siebenmannは組織学的に腺窩上皮の角化現象によるものであることを発表し，これにHyperkeratosis lecunarisと命名した。

　Yoshida and associates report 2 cases of cornification of the tonsils. The authors believe the aberation to be most likely the result of misplaced tissue in the embyonic stage from the second branchial arch where Reichert's cartilage arise. The process might have been instigated by some inflammation, a local factor, and/or through generalized factors such as vitamin A defficiency, abnormal internal secretion, disturbed metabolism and heredity. Consequently, the cornification process of tissue beneath the mucous membrane produced bone and the mucous membrane per se turned into squamous cell epithelium.
