HIROSE AND FURIHATA report 2 cases of cranial nerve ganglionitis which was manifes tet with involvements of the facial, trigeminal and auditory nerves. One was a woman aged 21 and the other a man aged 29. The second case recovered uneventfully by use of 2 g. of aureomycin. This disease has been known as herpes zoster of otitic origin but, there are cases in which manifestations of herpes are unrecognizable. In view of this fact the new term, cranial nerve ganglionitis, would be a more appropriate one than the former and, in so far as it is due to virus invasion aureomycin appears to be quite effective towards its eradi-cation.
