EpigIotlitis Anteriorの2症例

　緒言

　喉頭の各部位のうちで喉頭蓋はその位置的関係と，粘膜下組織の髪粗である為めに，温熱的或は機械的の刺戟に曝らされ易く，一旦粘膜の損傷を受けた場合は粘膜下を舌根部に亘つて広く炎症の波及を来たし易い事は当然と考えられる。喉頭蓋の非特異性限局性急性炎症は従来種々なる名称で呼ばれて来た。即ちEpiglottitis Katarrhalis Epiglottits ideopathica，Angina epiglattidea Epiglottis Abozess，Epiglottis phlegmone，等種々記載されている。GottsteinはEpiglottitis Katarrhlis，Angina epiglottideaと云う名称を用いている。この樣にその名称は非常に雑多であるだけにその意味する疾患の本質も明確を欠く所が多い。著者は最近喉頭蓋舌面より舌扁桃腺に亘る特発性炎症の2例に遭遇し，斯る状態に於ける診断名に就いて考察し，之を後藤教授の呼ぶ如くEpiglottitis anteriorと称するのが要当ではないかと考えるので茲に報告して諸賢の御批判を仰ぎたいと思う次第である。

　SHIGENO reports a case of non-allergic epiglottitis caused by hemolytic streptococcic infection with manifestations of redness and swelling which extended over the tongue surface. The patient was cured by parenteral use of penicillin. Various names have been applied to this condition but, the author believes that epiglottitis anterior, appears to be the most apropriate one for it.
