TSUKAMOTO and associates report some fa-vorable results on treatment of tubotympanitis with newly devised suppository medication which is inserted into the auditory tube. This mode of therapy was originally suggested by Professor Takahara. The suppository is composed of a base which is carbowax compound whose molecular weight is 4,000 and addition of other ingredients such as 1 per cent ammonium chloride, 2 per ce-nt protargol, 0.01 per cent adrenalin chloride, 0.5 per cent ephedrine chloride, 1 per cent dionine, iodine and potassium iodine respectively and prop-ortionately to 0.0002g. and 0.02g. per gram of the substance, and, penicillin 1,000 u. to a gram. That the method is successful has been evidenced by freer passage of air into the auditory tube when tested with insufflation. Further study is being made for improvement of the agent.
