I．はじめに

　脳動静脈奇形（arteriovenous malformation，以下AVMと略す）の自然消失例の報告は，Hook, Johansonら（1958）^1）により初めてなされて以来，これまでに文献上20例^{2,3,5,7-9,12-15,17-19,22,23,29）}にすぎない．

　今回著者らも，脳内出血で発症し，これまでの報告とは異なり極めて短期間でAVMが脳血管造影（以下AGと略す）上消失し，かつ手術によりAVMの血栓化が確認された症例を経験したので，これまでの報告例と合わせて文献的考察を加えて報告する．

The authors report a case of spontaneous occlusion of an arterioveuous malformation (AVM) verified by the second angiography performed 3 days after the ini-tial one. This 65-year-old man had a sudden attack of headache, nausea, and vomiting and was admitted to our hospital next day. On admission, CT scan showed subcortical hemorrhage in the right temporo-parietal area and right CAG showed a small AVM in the same area. The main feeder was a MCA distal branch and the drainer joined Labbe's vein. Repeated angio-graphy 3 days after initial one failed to demonstrate the AVM.
