A calmodulin inhibitor, trifluoperazine, was found to enhance the cvtotoxic action of ACNU in C6,especially in ACNU-resistant (C6/ACNU) glioma cells in vitro. In order to clarify the efficacy of triflu-operazine in vivo, 1 x 107 C6 or C6/ACNU cells were percutaneously implanted into the cisterna magna of Wistar rats to produce meningeal gliomatosis (MG) models as a chemosensitivity assay system. MG rats were treated with ACNU and trifluoperazine according to a variety of schedules.
