Natural killer activity (NK activity) of peripheral bloodymphocytes in patients with brain tumors was examined bythe method of 51Cr release assay in order to study the effectsof operation and radiotherapy on the immunological activityof the hosts.

NK activity of peripheral blood lymphocytes in normalpersons was about 50 to 70% and about 30 to 50% (%specific 51Cr release) at a ratio of target to effector cells of1:25 and 1:12.5 respectively. There were no significantdifferences in NK activity in regard to the histological typesof brain tumors.
