In contrast with contrecoup frontal injury, contrecoupposterior fossa injury is said to be a very rare clinical entity. This is a report of the case whose CT scan was normal beforetrauma, and after an obvious forehead trauma showedcontrecoup posterior fossa subdural effusion.
This 3-year-old boy was admitted to the hospital withheadache and vomiting on October 29, 1980. Six days beforeadmission he slipped and fell, striking his forehead. Hesustained a large subcutaneous hematoma in the forehead. One day after the trauma he developed headache and vomit-ing, which lasted as long as to the hospitalization.
