  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Although epidural pressure is not always equal to CSF pressure, epidural measuring of ICP has some advantages. MacKay reported that the most important point of measuring epidural pressure is keeping the epidural sensing device coplanar with the dura. Calling attention to this point, we developed a new equipment, a modification of Numoto's pressure indicating bag (PIB).

The sensor is made of a silicone rubber of 0.03 nun in thickness, which is fixed at the edge of a metal cylinder, 2 mm in thickness and 8 min in diameter. The position of the sensor can be controlled by a inner housing.
