脳幹障害と脳波

Brainstem disturbances and EEG.

はじめに

　脳幹は意識の座であり，この部の傷害では通常意識障害が出現し，中等度以上の病変にさいしては昏睡の出現するのが常である。

　意識のレベルは脳波に敏感に反映し，意識障害を示す脳幹障害では脳波は通常θ波，δ波を中心とした著明な徐波化を示すのが常である。

A case of primary pontine hemorrhage showing unusual electroencephalographic findings, which died within 23 hours after the initial attack, was reported.

On the EEG recorded one hour after the attack, fairly well regulated 10 c/sec alpha waves wereobserved, exclusively, in spite of the state of deep coma (α-coma).
