Morphology of Transplantable Mouse Glioma induced by 20-methylcholanthrene

I．緒言

　ひとの脳腫瘍に類似する腫瘍を実験動物に発生させ，その類似点を失わないまま継代移植していくことができるならば，脳腫瘍の病態の追求あるいは診断・治療の応用面で，きわめて有用であると考えられる。

　Seligman and Shear^36）によつてはじめて実験動物に神経膠腫が誘発されて以来，Zimmermanら^{2,38,39,40,41,42）}によつて数多くの発癌実験が行なわれ，実験的脳腫瘍の発生病理が迫求される一方，それらの誘発された腫瘍は可移植化され，その性状に関する研究がなされてきた。

　Two cases of transplantable C3H mouse glioma induced by application of 20-methylcholanthrene were studied. One was a glioblastoma multiforme and the other a malignant astrocytoma or glioblastoma with less pleomorphism. As successive homologous transplantations proceeded with both gliomas, the tumors lost glioma-like characteristics in histopathological appearances. Further observations were done to know the morphology of the cells of these two transplantable tumors cultivated in vitro. The cells of both tumors, at least a part, revealed the astrocyte-like appearances in vitro.
