電子計算機による行動分析

Computer use in behavioral study.

はじめに

　従来，向精神薬の行動効果を動物実験でテストする場合に動物の一般症状を肉眼的に記録観察する方法がとられてきた。しかし，一般症状というもともとが多様な変化を示すものに対して薬物を与えてもどこまでが薬物による効果か判定が難しいのみならず，観察そのものにも見落しや主観性が入り込みがちで薬物効果をこのような方法によって客観的にとらえることに難点があった。最近心理学で発達した行動分析学を向精神薬の行動効果の評価に利用した行動薬理学なる新しい領域ができて薬物の行動効果を客観的に，かつ高い再現性でとらえることができるようになってきた。行動分析学あるいは行動薬理学の学問的発展は電子技術の進歩によって支えられてきたといっても過言ではなく，とくに最近ではコンピュータのオンライン・リアルタイムによる利用が活発になされつつある。

Computer technology has made an impact on behavioral research by enabling investigators to make detailed analyses of behavioral data and to control animal behavior in a complex way by real time use of laboratory computers. In this paper, two examples of computer applications to behavioral pharmacology and operant conditioning study were presented. A differential reinforcement of low rate schedule was used for rats to test psychotropic drugs, and the analysis by computer was based on interresponse time (IRT).
