  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Since Zu Rhein & Chou's original report in 1964, it has been repeatedly demonstrated that the virus-particles exist in the cerebral lesions ofprogressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML), and pointed that the PML-virions are probably a kind of Papova-virus group.

It has been disclosed by Klug & Finch, on the other hand, that the Papova-virus group has 72 capsomeres arranged in a skew of icosahedral symmetry and the handedness is unique, that of the human wart virus is the right and that of the rabbit papilloma virus is the left.
