Migraine is a common form of the chronic headache syndromes, characterized by unilateral and pulsating headache accompany with nausea, vomiting, photophobia and phonophobia. Approximately 8.4% people have migraine headache in Japan. Although the pathogenesis of migraine still remains enigmatic, there have been remarkable progress in headache research. In this article, recent advance of genetic study of migraine headache have been reviewed.
