  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Interaction of glioma cells and extracellular matrices is one of the key steps in the process of glioma invasion in which the stimulated cell adhesion and migration play an important role. Among various cell adhesion molecules, gliomas express integrinα3β1 as a major receptor for the extracellular matrix both in vivo and in vitro. Since laminin-5 has been shown to be a specific ligand for integrinα3β1, we examined effects of laminin-5 on the adhesion, migration and invasion of malignant glioma cells.
