  • Look Inside

In this article, the function of parietal cortex in the control of visually guided hand movements was discussed. It has become clear that the parietal cortex is subdivided into different functional regions, each of them plays a different role in the control of hand movements.

Recent neuropsychological studies suggest that the parietal cortex plays a crucial role in visual information processing for the control of hand movements. Neurophysiological studies in awake monkeys indicated that neurons in the parietal cortex were involved in the control of reaching and manipulation.
