Analysis of seizure characteristics, repeat scalp EEG, and image diagnosis such an magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and PET/SPECT are important noninvasive examinations for localization of the epileptic focus. Epilepsy with frontal lobe foci is most common among extratemporal epilepsy. Frontal lobe epilepsy is closely related with various types of motor manifestations. When the focus is situated in the frontal limbic areas, such as the orbital frontal cortex or cingulate gyrus, complex partial seizures, different from those of temporal lobe origin, are observed.
