  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Limbkinetic apraxia (LKA) was first defined by Liepmann as slowness and awkwardness in the hand and finger use as the result of lesion in the central region. Although the central region of Liepmann included both precentral motor and postcentral sensory cortices, the loss of dexterity has been observed after the lesion of either the precentral or postcentral cortex in both human patients and monkeys. We compared symptoms between two patients with lesion in either the precentral or postcentral gyrus and in awake monkeys after injecting muscimol into either the precentral or postcentral gyrus.
