虚偽性低血糖症（factitious hypoglycemia）

Factitious hypoglycemia in patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus

　虚偽性低血糖症を繰り返し引き起こしたインスリン依存性糖尿病の3症例について報告する．虚偽性低血糖症は日常の臨床の場では，稀なものであるが，原因のはっきりしない低血糖症の鑑別の際には常に念頭においておく必要がある．虚偽性低血糖症の診断は比較的容易であるが，患者をマネージメントすることは非常に困難である．

　青少年期のインスリン依存性糖尿病患者の治療にあたっては，単に血糖のコントロールの良否に目を向けるだけではなく，精神的な面でのケアが重要である．

In patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, surreptitious insulin administration may be the cause of unexplained hypoglycemia. Such a factitious hypoglycemia poses a difficulty in making correct diagnosis. Moreover, long-term outcome is unpredictable. Factitious disease is thought to be a manifestation of the patient's desperate appeal for help to cope with his or her emotional problems. We present here three patients with insulindependent diabetes mellitus who showed repeated episodes of factitious hypoglycemia. And that, they were hospitalized in the same ward at the same time.
