　1985年1月より1989年7月までの4年7カ月間に，東京慈恵会医科大学第三病院泌尿器科で診療した腎細胞癌67例中9例，13.4％に重複癌がみとめられた．重複癌の発生部位は肺癌，胃癌，直腸癌が各2例，食道癌，結腸癌，膵癌が各1例であった．2つの癌の発生時期をみると，9例中6例は同時に診断されており，3例は異なった時期に発見され，その間隔は4カ月，1年2カ月および4年8カ月であった．腎細胞癌の発見の契機をみると，9例中3例は腎細胞癌の症状を訴えて来院したが，6例は他臓器癌の検査のさいに，無症状の腎細胞癌が偶然に発見された．画像診断法の進歩により，腎細胞癌を含む重複癌の臨床例は，今後増加するであろう．

Out of 67 patients with renal cell carcinoma treated at our department in four years and 7 months period from January 1985 to July 1989, 9 patients (13.4%) were found to have multiple cancers. The complicated cancers were in the lung, the stomach and the rectum in 2 cases each, and in the espophagus, the colon and the pancreas in 1 case each. Two cancers were diagnosed simultaneously in 6 out of 9 cases, and in the remaining 3 cases, some intervals 4 months, 1 year and 7 months, and 4 years and 8 months, respectively, were seen between the period of detection of two cancers.
