A 64-year-old man was referred to urological clinic with acute urinary retention and gross hematuria on March 11, 1989. The diagnosis was right renal tumor with thrombus extending into inferior vena cava. The patient underwent right radical nephrectomy and complete removal of tumor thrombus with vena cavotomy on April 6, 1989. The level of involvement of tumor thrombus was Level II, infrahepatic. Pathological appearance was clear cell carcinoma of the right kidney, pT3N0M0pV2. After operation, the patient received Interferon for two years.
