一般細菌による尿性敗血症に対し強力な抗生剤治療を行つた結果，菌交代現象としてカンジダ性腎盂腎炎が生じ，後日患者の全身状態が悪化したときに，カンジダ性敗血症に進展し死亡した1例を報告した。
Renal candidiasis developed in a 61-year-old diabetic male following intensive chemotherapy for urosepsis. Fungus ball appeared in the renal pelvis. The patient had been admitted to the department of internal medicine and no antifungal therapy or urological intervention was given. Renal candidiasis progressed to candida septicemia when the general condition of the patient was compromised, causing death of the victim.
