  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Computed tomography (CT) provided a definite diagnostic accuracy in a case of radiolucent renal and bladder stones. A 66-year old man was first seen in January, 1979 with complaints of hematuria and terminal pain on urination. A plain film (KUB) and intravenous urogram were unable to demonstrate opaque shadows in bladder and renal area. Urethrogram showed no stone shadow but only the prostatic elongation of posterior urethra. However, yellow, oval and smooth-surfaced stones were found by cystoscopic examination, one of which passed later and was proved to be a uric acid stone.
