　大きな前立腺，特に100mlを超える前立腺肥大症に対する手術法は，開腹手術か，TUR-P，HoLEPなどが考えられる。これらの方法には，出血や入院期間が長いこと，手技の習得に時間がかかるという欠点がある。PVP療法は手技も簡単で出血も少なく，ほとんどが1日入院で済み，大きな前立腺肥大症にも施行できる。今回われわれは，100mlを超える21例の前立腺肥大症に対してPVP療法を施行して，比較的良好な結果を得たので報告する。

　We carried out the PVP method of the treatment in 21 prostatic hyperplasia patients with over 100 ml prostate and compared it to PVP350 method currently carried out at our hospital. 20 PVP patients were hospitalization for one day,and did not have the blood transfusion. Clinical results before and after an operation were as follows：IPSS 26.1→7.4,QOL 5.5→1.8,Qmax 9.0→15.0 ml/sec,Pvol. 120.6→71.0 ml,PSA 17.9→10.7 ng/ml. Thus we conclude that the PVP method of treatment inpatients with over 100 ml pzostate are relativevely good.
