80歳と88歳の女性．三叉神経第Ⅰ枝領域の帯状疱疹に罹患後，同部にびらん，潰瘍が多発，細菌，真菌の局所感染も伴い難治となった．各種検査結果および，特に潰瘍形成の原因となるような基礎疾患の合併もないことから，両症例を帯状疱疹後に生じたtrigeminal trophic syndromeと診断した．Trigeminal trophic syndromeの概念について述べ，若干の文献的考察を加えた．なお，症例2では，水痘・帯状疱疹ウイルスの組織内持続感染の可能性をPCR法により検索したが，同ウイルスのDNAは検出されなかった．
