A typical case in a 7-month-old girl was reported. The punched-out lesion in the skull was revealed by autopsy, as a cyst without palpable resistance of bone in its base. Histiocytic proliferations in the bone marrow, and secondary osteolysis were proved by histologic studies.
Since foci of the proliferation of histiocytes without ostcolysis were found in the bones of the extremi-ties where punched-out lesion could not be proved, the existence of histiocytic proliferation even in the bone with normal roentogenogram would be quite possible.
