  • Look Inside

Statistical studies on the clinical picture of 214 cases of Tinea versicolor in the Department of Dermatology of the Tohoku University Hospital for 13 years from May, 1957 to June, 1970 were performed. The Wood's light test was found to be essential for detection of a lesion which was invisible by daylight. In the pubic, genitofemoral, and retroauricular regions, which were easily overlooked, there was found a lesion in rather many cases.

Nine cases with atypical clinical types-annular, papular and red-colored-were described.

Topical application of selenium disulfide showed a satisfactory effect.
