  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

1. Distributitn pattern of the incidence of herpes zoster in the southern part of Japan : It is higher in Kyushu than Chugoku district, especially in the cities on the coast in the western part of the Kyushu Mountains. In Chugoku it had higher incidence in Yamaguchi prefecture and in some parts of Hiroshima prefecture, especially in the cities on the coast of the Seto-naikai.

In general, its occurrence is lower in the mountainous area of inland than in the coastal area. Some borderline area between the prefectures had extremely low frequence of herpes zoster.

2. Geographic distribution of filariasis in southern part of Japan : The order of its frequ-ency was in Kumamoto and then in Nagasaki prefecture. It is higher in southern part of the Kyushu Mountains. It is not rare in the cities on the coast of the Setonaikai.

Its sporadic occurrence was observed in other prefectures than above mentioned ones except Hiroshima and Tokushima prefecture.

Because most of the patients with filariasis consulted urologist, this statistical analysis was not perfect. In this report Shimane, Ehime, Kagawa and Kochi prefecture were omitted because their informations were not sufficient for statistic studies.
