　化学療法の発達した現在，頭頸部領域の重篤な感染症は稀なものとなってきている。またガス形成菌感染症は，いわゆる「ガス壊疽」として知られ急速な症状の進展をみるが，頭頸部領域に起こることは非常に稀である。

　今回われわれは，ガス産生を伴った頭頸部蜂窩織炎に対し，局所処置と抗生剤投与により治療し得た症例を経験したので，若干の文献的考察を加え報告する。

Gas gangrene is very rare, especially in the head and neck. A 77-year-old man complained of a swelling of his left cheek. CT scan showed gas formation in the left cheek and neck. Strep-tococcal cellulitis of non-clostridal gas gangrene was diagnosed.

He was treated with antibiotics and frequent debridements of necrotic tissues. After these therapies, his neck skin defect was treated with streptokinase and streptodornase without recon-structive operation.
