Application of the Coronal Incision for Osteoplastic Frontal Sinus Surgery

　緒言

　脳外科領域では，coronal incisionは前頭開頭において通常用いられる皮切法である。耳鼻科でも最近前頭蓋底領域の手術に際し，coronal incisionおよび前頭開頭が主に脳外科医とびの協力下で行われるようになってきた。

　今回われわれは，両側前頭洞嚢胞に対し耳鼻科単独でcoronal incisionを用い，鼻外前頭洞手術を行いその有用性を認めたので，この皮切法の長所を含め若干の考察を加えて報告する。

A case of frontal sinus mucocele, which was operated using coronal incision, was reported and advantages of the coronal incision technique for frontal sinus surgery was confirmed. The frontal sinus mucocele is completely excised by cutting and reflecting the anterior wall of the frontal sinus. It prevents injury of any exposed dura mater, leaves no facial scar with the operation. Otolaryngologists may have the opportunity of removing the intersinus septum, or creating a pericranial flap for reconstruction of the anterior skull base.
