Ventilation Tube Insertion as a Day Surgery

　はじめに

　Day surgeryは，手術当日に入院させ，施行後に帰宅させる，いわゆる一日入院による手術であり，欧米では広く行われており^1），最近わが国でも普及しつつある力式である。

　神尾記念病院では入院患者の手術は，気管内挿管による全身麻酔で行うことを原則としているが小児の難治性の滲出性中耳炎に対する鼓膜チュービングは，マスク麻酔によるday surgeryとしている。当院におけるday surgeryのシステムについて報告する。

Ventilation tube insertion in 222 cases of pediatric otitis media with effusion was performed as a day surgery. Patients were anesthetized by inhalation anesthesia using mask method. The average opera-tion time was 7.3 minutes, No serious complica-tion was observed except for 12 cases (5.4%) of vomiting. We concluded that tube-insertion could be performed safely as a day surgery under the careful condition. And we recommend our system of day surgery especially for preventing emotional disorder.
