A 58-year-old woman who was being treated with chemoradiotherapy for supraglottic cancer for 9 years complained of gradually progressive dysphagia, difficulty in breathing, and a muffled voice for one year. Laryngoscopic findings revealed that the epiglottis adhered so severely to the posterior pharyngeal wall that the vocal folds could not be found. After tracheotomy, the adhesive lesion was resected and posterior pharyngeal wall was reconstructed by the local muco-muscler flap under the laryngomicrosurgery. A proton pump inhibiter and prokinetic drugs were administrated for gastroesophageal reflex before the surgery to date. After the surgery, her symptoms improved, and there was no recurrence for 18 months.
