A 77-year-old male with ARDS due to esophageal carcinoma surgery had tracheal intubation and tracheostomy seven days later. Approximately three months later, he had difficulty in breathing trying to remove a tracheal tube.

Endscopic examination of the larynx, adhesion of the vocal processes was found. When the vocal cords were abducted, the adhesion was pulled. Under the general anesthesia, the adhesion was excised. The postoperative course was satisfactory with a good respiratory function and then after tracheostoma was closed.
