　過去15余年の間に，4医療施設の各科でサルコイドーシスが疑われ，結膜生検で診断が確定した70症例を検討した。結膜生検では，非乾酪壊死性類上皮細胞肉芽腫があるものを陽性とした。57例（81％）にぶどう膜炎があった。両眼とも陽性が24例（34％），片眼のみの陽性が46例（66％）であり，両眼の結膜生検は片眼の生検よりも有用であった。ぶどう膜炎のない症例でも，ぶどう膜炎がある症例と同様に結膜生検が有用であった。サルコイドーシスの疑いがある症例では，ぶどう膜炎の有無にかかわらず，両眼の結膜生検が望ましいと結論される。

We reviewed 70 cases of sarcoidosis with positive findings by conjunctival biopsy. These cases had been suspected for sarcoidosis in various departments of 4 institutions. Cases were diagnosed with sarcoidosis when con-junctival biopsy showed noncaseous necrotic epitheloid granulomas. Uveitis was present in 57 cases (81%). Conjunc-tival biopsy was positive bilaterally in 24 cases (34%) and unilaterally in 46 cases (66%). Conjunctival biopsy was thus more sensitive when performed bilaterally than unilaterally. The findings show that bilateral conjunctival biopsy is a useful diagnostic means when systemic sarcoidosis is suspected regardless of the presence or absence of uveitis.
