　アトピー性白内障に，ヘパリンで表面を改良したヘパリン結合PMMA眼内レンズ（IOL）と，ほぼ同形状のPMMA-IOLを挿入し，術後経過を比較した。18眼を無作為に2群に分け，9眼にはヘパリン結合IOL，他の9眼にはPMMA-IOLを挿入した。術中経過はすべて順調であった。術後視力は両群すべてで良好であり，術後前房フレア値，矯正視力，後発白内障，レンズ沈着物について両群に有意差はなかった。以上の結果から、アトピー性白内障への手術で，ヘパリン結合IOLと通常のPMMA-IOLとは同等の効果があることが結論される。

We evaluated the postoperative course in atopic cataract after inserting either of two types of intraocular lens(IOL) : heparin surface-modlfied PMMA IOL or conventional PMMA IOL. Eighteen eyes were randomly divided intotwo groups of 9 eyes, each receiving either of the two types of IOL. The intraoperative course was uneventful in all the18 eyes. Final visual acuity was good in all the eyes. There was no difference between the two groups regarding aqueousflare level, corrected visual acuity, aftercataract, or cellular deposits. The findings show that both IOL types are similarlyeffective for atopic cataract.
